About octet
octet is a high-performance coding agent, extensible in any language, free and open source. Built in Rust, it works with cloud models and local OpenAI-compatible endpoints and keeps inspectable sessions on disk.
It is a skaft project. The source code is available under the MIT license.
Formerly codenamed Ygg, octet v0.8.0 uses the octet and octet-host commands. Install afresh; existing Ygg installations and data remain separate. See the installation instructions and distribution channels.
Design influences include Pi and the Terminus 2 agent. Their attributions and licenses are retained in the repository.
Logo
Eight adjoining columns encode 01101111: lowercase ASCII o in one byte (0x6f). The wordmark is outlined artwork; no installed font is needed.

Use the blue–cyan–green identity in public material. Keep all eight columns adjoining, in order, with the original proportions and baseline. Allow at least one bit-column of clear space around free-standing logos.
The ZIP also contains smaller icons and provider-color variants for product surfaces. These do not imply a provider endorsement. Asset manifest and checksums.
